For a few months we’ve been thinking about starting an online magazine to promote, review, do features on DIY unsigned bands and songwriters. Only problem is that between a handful of us we just can’t come up with a name that everyone likes.
Any suggestions?
Bearing in mind this project should hopefully last for years and we’ll be stuck with whatever we choose.
No prizes for the best answer, just kudos and a sense of self-satisfaction that you have helped out people helping out people.
Also, while I’m here, if anyone would like to contribute to the ezine with no name as a writer or an artist or tea-boy/coffee-girl, then get in touch at quixodelic@gmail.com. We’d be looking for reviews on records you love (nothing mainstream – they’ve got their own machine to take care of them), interviews with bands you know who deserve some exposure, and philosophical monologues about anything vaguely music related. And lots of coffee for late-night head scratching.
I kind of liked “We, The Undersigned.” I like “Unsung” but there is already a site/blog called “Unsung” that is related to music. “The Oneiric” is cool, but most people won’t understand what it means and won’t bother to look it up. (My girlfriend has a blog called oneiromantics, and I have a blog called oneiro antics.) Out of the choices that seem mostly unreleated to the concept but still kind of psychedelic, I would choose “Moon Crumb.” I can’t bring myself to vote, yet.
Write-in for “We, The Undersigned.” Maybe simply “Undersigned.” Seriously. Because these are bands that are less than signed.
I ran this past the gophers and seeing as it’s you, they agreed to make the necessary changes. But they also said ‘that’s it, no more’.
